Biography

Sophie Caswell is a Korean American mixed-media artist and animator specializing in stop-motion and 2D animation. As a recent graduate from the University of North Carolina Asheville with a degree in New Media Animation, she has been featured in various film festivals including the Palm Springs International Animation Festival and Open World Animation Festival, won Best in Horror in the North Carolina Museum of Art Student Film Festival, and is featured in Stop Motion Magazine for her film "2:30". During her time at university, she produced multimedia short films and collaborative music videos while directing her passions towards sustainable filmmaking. With a core desire to express untold narratives through visual storytelling, she loves to experiment with different media to create artwork demonstrating a vulnerable dreamlike (or nightmarish) atmosphere with the ability to produce unique emotions and connect with others.
