**A quiet journey of self-discovery**

*Beyond the Ocean* is a quiet, atmospheric film about leaving everything behind and trying to find yourself again. John arrives in Bali looking for something he has lost, but he soon discovers that he is not the only one searching for a new direction.

The young woman he meets is especially interesting because, in her own way, she is also trying to understand who she is and where she belongs. Their encounter gives the story a deeper human dimension: two people, each carrying their own uncertainties, finding a brief connection in a place far from home.

Ben Gazzara gives the film a thoughtful, restrained presence, while Bali becomes almost a character itself — beautiful, mysterious and full of possibilities.

Not a fast-paced movie, but a reflective and surprisingly touching one.
