**The German erotica formula**

The film "Schulmädchen-Report 6. Teil - Was Eltern gern vertuschen möchten" —a title that literally translates to something like "Schoolgirl Report Part 6: What Parents Would Like to Cover Up"— is actually the sixth installment in the iconic and commercially successful "report film" (Report-Filme) saga, loosely based on the sociological research of sexologist Günther Hunold.

The film adopts a mockumentary format, kicking off its plot when a young student couple is caught by school authorities heavy petting in the music room. Brought before the student council and the principal, the youths argue that social and sexual norms have evolved. To prove how the youth of the era experience their sexuality behind adults' backs, the film gives way to a series of standalone vignettes. Each segment illustrates the sexual awakenings, fantasies, and erotic escapades of different German students, uncovering the secrets that their parents and teachers would prefer not to know.

The film stays true to the saga's anthology formula, using a simple narrative premise as a pretext to string together independent short films through a fragmented fable. This approach sacrifices deep character development and dramatic continuity in favor of an erotic rhythm and a constant succession of new situations.

Director Ernst Hofbauer, a veteran of the series, delivers a tone that oscillates between light comedy and 1970s social melodrama (melodrama costumbrista). Although formally presented under an "educational" or social commentary veneer, the staging prioritizes softcore entertainment (nudity and touching) over any structural rigor or orthodoxy.

Evaluated from a historical perspective, Campus Pussycats (its original U.S. release title) reflects the sexual liberation of 1970s West Germany and the saturation of the commercial film market with adult content. Thus, it does not seek artistic provocation, but rather aims to meet the demand of an exploitation subgenre highly coveted in the grindhouse theaters of the era.
