**Romance, war, and Hollywood**

Iris and Casey are childhood sweethearts from a small town in South Dakota. At the height of the Vietnam War, she dreams of Hollywood stardom, while he plans to enlist in the Marine Corps. On his last day before deploying, Casey sweetly takes his girlfriend's virginity in a beautiful outdoor love scene. A year later, fully devoted to her career, Iris breaks off her engagement to Casey by letter to begin a "forced" romance with her lesbian agent. Years later, they cross paths by chance when he happens to be driving the taxi taking her to an appointment at a mansion.

The two leads of "The Legend of Lady Blue" deliver sensitive and delicate performances as star-crossed lovers in a cinematic romance that swept most of the AFAA (Adult Film Association of America) awards the year of its release. Although 1978 was a landmark year for the American porn industry, and its actors were blossoming into near-legitimate superstars, it is curious in hindsight that director Jesse Pearson chose two unknowns for the lead roles in such a demanding film. She went on to play a small role as a sex android in Anthony Spinelli's masterpiece "SexWorld," while he never made another movie.
